Caligo Industria involved in the world’s largest pulp mill project – the largest delivery in the history of the damper business to Brazil as part of Sucuriú project
Caligo’s Damper Business Unit has signed a significant order with Valmet as part of Sucuriú Project, Arauco’s pulp mill in Brazil. This is the world’s largest single-phase pulp mill project, with an annual production capacity of 3.5 million tonnes. The new mill will be built in Inocência, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, and is expected to be completed in late 2027.
Caligo’s delivery includes industrial isolation and control dampers, which play a key role in the factory’s processes. The delivery is the largest in the history of Caligo’s damper business, and it strongly demonstrates the demand for Finnish technology expertise in the international market.
Proudly involved in a historic project
”It is great to be part of such an industrial mega-project together with Valmet. Our delivery supports the factory’s ambitious goals of reducing emissions and maximizing energy efficiency, exactly where Caligo technology is at its strongest,” says Oskari Salovaara, CEO of Caligo Industria.
Future reference for international markets
Caligo’s Damper business is known for its innovative and customized damper solutions that are used in demanding industrial processes around the world. The delivery to Brazil strengthens Caligo’s position in the global market. At the same time, it serves as a strong reference for future projects, especially in Latin America.
”We would like to thank Valmet for their trust and look forward to the progress of the project. This is a strong indication that Finnish clean technology is also of interest in the world’s largest projects,” Caligo’s project team comments.
